Our story

MetaMed was founded after years of watching clinical teams fight outbreaks with spreadsheets, fragmented dashboards and rule engines that had not changed since the nineties. The pandemic made the problem impossible to ignore: the hospitals that performed best were the ones that could see their data in real time. Most could not.

We started MetaMed to give every infection prevention team the same situational awareness as the best-resourced academic centres. Not as a research project, but as production-grade infrastructure that runs continuously alongside the EHR.

What we believe

• Clinicians lead. Every workflow we ship is co-designed with practising IPC nurses, microbiologists and pharmacists.
• Evidence over hype. Models are validated against real surveillance data and judged on outbreaks averted, not demos.
• Privacy is non-negotiable. Patient identifiers stay in the hospital; we run on your tenancy or fully on-prem.

Where we work

Headquartered in London, with clinical advisers across the UK, EU and US. Our infrastructure is hosted on Azure UK South with optional EU and US regions and supports HSCN, NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit and ISO 27001 controls.
